The Black Meteors of Ghana will encounter Congo at the Prince Moulaye Abdullah Stadium in their opening fixture of the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

The competition kicked off on Saturday night at the same venue and Ezzalzuli's heroics powered host nation Morocco to a comeback win over Guinea in the opening game of the competition.

Ghana definitely will for a headline start and will set sights on maximum points to set off an explosive start to their campaign.

The Meteors have been preparing for the competition for months now including a training tour in Egypt which saw them train intensively and engage in some top class friendly.

The Black Stars feeder team played reigning champions Egypt in a first friendly which was really tough but managed to salvage a draw.

Subsequently, a hatrick from Romanian-based forward Emmanuel Yeboah powered the team to a 4-1 win over Zamalek SC to test their strength and readiness for the competition.

The team arrived in Rabat three days ago with six players dropped from the provisional squad and have already held series of training sessions, having acclimatized to everything and are looking very poised for the game.
