Black Meteors head coach, Ibrahim Tanko has showered praises on his players following their impressive display to secure qualification to the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
Ghana relied on Fatawu Issahaku's header to beat Algeria by 1-0 after sharing spoils in Annaba last Friday in the first leg.
Speaking after the game, Tanko expressed ecstacy with the qualification and has stated they will now shift their attention to the main championship in months to come.
On Barnieh, he got booed by the home fans due to his ill performance when he was taking off but the coach rallied behind him and added he is very optimistic of rediscovering his form very soon.
"The whole team did well. Barnieh is an important player for us and I know he will start getting the goals going forward."
"You can't judge a player with just a game. Barnieh has been impressive and also he just moved to Europe and I'm sure he will get his form by then and will be ready."
The 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations will be held from June 23 to July 8, 2023 in Morocco.
The competition will serve as qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games which will be hosted in Paris.
