Since the National Division One League was restructured and given a new format of sixteen teams in all three zones in the country, one player who has played every single minute in the division one league is the captain of Kumasi Cornerstones, Umar-Farouk Issah.

The versatile young defender suffered a minor twist on his ankle on Thursdays when they took on fellow regional rivals, Asokwa Depotivo at Kumasi Baba Sports Stadium which they lost by 2-1 after they took the lead in the open quarter of the first half.

The experienced 18-year-old defensive linchpin who has moved back to his natural defensive midfield role this season, lasted only twenty minutes in the game against Asokwa Depotivo when his side where leading by a goal to nil but believes his exit was not the main cause of his team's lost.

"They (Depotivo) were possessing all the play but we created the most decent chances which our strikers could not convert them so I cannot conclude that my exit affected the team. They did well which wasn't enough to give us the win. Better luck next time", he said.

Umar-Farouk, affectionately known as Fabio, will be out of Kumasi Cornerstones' next league game against Adumako Karela FC to fully recovery in time to help the team in subsequent games.
