The Ga-Mantse Cup which was supposed to come off today, August 7, 2022 between Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics has been rescheduled, one of the organisers has confirmed with reasons.
This is due to a reason that, the 'Phobians' officially wrote to the organisers about their ill preparations so far towards the game and will need a little much time to get themselves well poised and gelled for the epic clash coming up.
The Ga-Mantse Cup is organized as part of the activities towards the upcoming Homowo festival celebration but mainly, is to commemorate the King, Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.
Also, with both teams commencing their preseasons already, this game would have served as the perfect test for them to know the strength of their squad heading into the 2022/23 football season.
The FA Cup conquerors have rather proposed Sunday, August 28, 2022 as the perfect time to get into the game, however it is yet to be approved by the organisers.
Speaking to Happy FM in Accra, Primeval Consult's Mr. William Ezear confirmed this reportage. He said;
"We received a letter from Hearts of Oak stating that the team is not ready to honour the game on Sunday because their team isn't ready and they just started preseason."
"They want the game to be played on August 28. We are yet to meet the stakeholders to see the way forward." He concluded
