Ampem Darkoa Ladies secured their first ever CAF Women's Champions League win last Monday after coming from behind to edge reigning champions ASFAR by 2-1 in San Pedro.

The Moroccan giants opened the scoring account through Najat Badri but two spectacular second half goals from Comfort Yeboah was enough for the 'Nana Mma' girls to complete a huge fightback to snatch all three points.

In a post-match presser, head coach Nana Joe Adarkwah admitted they a very tough side but added his pep talk after half time conjured the magic as it gingered his girls to return on a higher note.

"First of all, we knew our game against AS Far would be very difficult, so we were very determined and prepared. Unfortunately, we conceded in the first half."

"I spoke extensively to the ladies and reassured them that AS Far is just a female team like them, and they need not show them too much respect. They listened."

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will now face Malian champions AS Mandé in the second round of matches on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
