The Public Relations Officer of Hohoe United Football Club, Kenneth Asante, has described their qualification to the Ghana Premier League as a great achievement.
Hohoe United won a 3-1 promotion-securing victory against Inter Allies in the Access Bank Division One League Zone Three, which they spectacularly did at their favorite Hohoe Stadium on Sunday, May 25.
However, according to Asante, despite Vision FC securing the top flight slot last season ahead of them, it motivated them to go out of their shells and work extra hard to ensure their aspiration of earning promotion came to pass this season.
“Last season, we tried but Vision FC was able to qualify ahead of us so we were very optimistic that this season we were going to get the slot and with the motivation, the focus and the direction of the club, we were able to achieve that fate," he told Citi Sports.
Elsewhere, in Zone 2, Swedru All Blacks also secured qualification to the Ghana Premier League after 16 years through a 3-0 win over New Edubiase United.
In Zone One, a crunch clash is expected to take place between Real Tamale United and Techiman Eleven Wonders on Friday, May 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
