Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has expressed dissatisfaction towards his team’s performance despite the emphatic win over Malawi in a preparatory friendly as he feels they were wasteful with the number of chances that came their way

The Ghana senior women national team have been in Ben Slimane, Morocco for a while now to continue with preparations towards the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

The Queens tested their strength over the weekend with a 3-1 win over their counterparts from Malawi at the Ziaída Complex, thanks a sensational Doris Boaduwaa hattrick, having netted a brace at half time including a penalty and adding another after recess

Speaking after the game, the Swedish gaffer says they dominated the game right from onset but should have gotten more goals looking at the number of goal/scoring opportunities that came their way

“The start was probably a little bit slow, but otherwise, we were the better team the whole game," he said.

"We produced so many chances, we won the game 3-1, but if you are looking at the chances, we could have scored probably six, seven today, but the most important thing is to win.”

The Black Queens will face Benin this Wednesday in another international friendly and will wrap up with much more difficult test against the Super Falcons of Nigeria

Ghana is drawn in Group C together with holders South Africa, Mali and Tanzania. The competition will commence on July 7, 2025
