Former Black Stars star, Derek Boateng has made a controversial comment that, the senior national team never had any top-notch foreign coaches during his twelve year spell.
The 39 year old is one of the players to have enjoyed a long spell with the national team in his generation, having featured in five different major tournaments including two World Cup appearances (2006 & 2010).
He worked with three Serbian gaffers Ratomir Dujkovic, Milovan Rajevac and Goran Stevanovic during his time and thinks none of them had any great impact on the team, looking at the quality they had in their squad.
"All of the foreign coaches we had while with the Black Stars, including Milovan Rajevac, were clueless. To be honest, we had a great team... Milovan Rajevac and other foreign coaches did nothing out of the ordinary." He told Asempa FM
"We trained as if we were playing a match, and every player worked hard to get into the starting lineup. Looking at the squad, there was serious competition in the team, and those foreign coaches did nothing in my opinion."
