Asante Kotoko’s Communication Director, Samuel Sarfo Duku Esq. had confirmed they will be a special reward to the players if they are able to advance to the next qualifying round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors will be coming up against Nigerian side Kwara United over the weekend in the second leg of the first round prelims in definitely what will be a very fascinating game.
The Reds emerged victors in the first leg that was held last Sunday in Accra in a seven-goal thriller where they won by 4-3 in the end and will have to just avoid a defeat in the return fixture to advance.
Speaking on Nhyira FM ahead of the game, the club’s Spokesperson Sarfo Duku has assured their fans of a win and added they will be an appreciable amount of money that will be giving to the players should they advance to the next round.
“There is always a winning bonus even in the Ghana Premier League, but qualifying from the preliminary stage will add some appreciable amount of money.
“Asante Kotoko is ahead of Kwara United on any platform, so they should be able to account for them. The good news is that the match will be played on a neutral ground, so there is a significant advantage for us.
“I assure all Kotoko fans that on Sunday after the game, Kotoko will be eligible for the next stage,” he added.
Asante Kotoko are expected to depart the country for Nigeria tomorrow as the second leg against the Harmony Boys is slated November 28, at the MKO Stadium in Abeokuta.
