Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars has admitted it’s always very difficult to pick maximum points playing away from home but assured that his players are ever ready and poised for the game slated for this afternoon.
The Black Stars touched down in N’Djamena last Wednesday morning and have been training extensively for the game coming up.
As part of preparations, the team trained at the match venue which was a mandatory in order to have a feel of the pitch and also adapt to the weather and others before the big game.
In a pre-match interview, the former Dortmund trainer despite complaining about the state of the pitch earlier, is still hopeful of a victory in N’Djamena.
“We're excited, looking forward to that match. We know it's going to be tough to play away in Africa; it's always tough. Now, also under these circumstances, it will be different because the players are not used to playing on artificial grass. But let's see.”
“I think we are mentally prepared. And like I said, the boys look good and sharp on the pitch today. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to the match tomorrow,” Coach Otto Addo said as quoted on ghanafa.org.
Currently leading Group I with 15 points, the four-time African conquerors will be hoping to secure qualification in this international window as they dream of winning all their two matches while second-place Comoros will pick only two points or less in their games coming up.
The game is scheduled for 13:00GMT on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
