Black Starlets head coach Laryea Kingston has stated he is desperate to qualify the team to the next U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and not to stage a revenge against Burkina Faso.

Ghana will lock horns with Young Stallions later today at the University of Ghana Stadium in the semi final of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.

The Starlets finished as winners of Group A with perfect record having won all two matches against Cote D'Ivoire and Benin.

However, Burkina Faso also finished second in Group B having tied on same points with Nigeria but lost the top spot due to goal difference.

Speaking ahead of the game, Laryea Kingston stated emphatically clear that, he is not in for any revenge and his ultimate target now is to win and qualify the team to the U-17 AFCON to end the country's seven-year abeyance.

"Revenge? No! That’s not what we are thinking about."

"We have not been to the AFCON after our last appearance in 2017 and so we have a responsibility to return to the tournament. We are playing Burkina Faso and we’ll approach it as one of the games requiring a different mentality but not because we want revenge.”

The game is slated for 16:00GMT (4:00pm).
