Ghana Premier League side Young Apostles FC have entered the race to sign young goalkeeper Kabiru Muntari in the just-opened second transfer window of the 2024/25 football season.
The lanky goalie had a nationwide spotlight following his stupendous display for eventual winners Osei Kyeretwie SHS in the 2024 Ashanti Regional Inter-School and Colleges boys soccer competition held earlier this month at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Kabiru, was very outstanding among all goalkeepers at the tourney having with his top-tier display in between the sticks and topped up with two crucial penalty saves in the final against Simms SHS to help the grand masters end their long standing hoodoo to finally win the trophy for the first time since 2008.
His heroics has already gotten him on the radar of giants Hearts of Oak who are really pushing for his signature and is expected to join their youth side Auroras for now should the deal go through.
However, Young Apostles FC have joined the race out of no where and are very willing to sign Kabiru as the direct replacement for Benjamin Twum - who has left to join Asante Kotoko.
Kabiru Muntari's progression and journey - moving from Inter-School competition straight to the Ghanaian topflight will be a massive one and will also will inspire many young goalkeepers in the country to put in extra efforts in their careers.
