The second round of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League begins this afternoon at the Akoon Park where Medeama SC will host Legon Cities FC in an epic clash.
Both teams weren't really at their best in the first phase of the season looking at their current rank on the league log and will hope to up the ante this time around.
The Mauves and Yellows weren't the usual boggy-side they have been in the topflight for the past years, having tasted appaling seven loses so far, with equally seven wins and three draws and finished on the 7th position with 24 points.
Despite suffering two defeats in their last five matches, the last three has been really impressive with two wins and a draw which happened away from home against Tamale City last week at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
On the other hand, Legon Cities couldn't build any momentum from the win against King Faisal after once again losing 2-1 to Samartex in the last round of matches.
They're still touted as one of the relegation- threatening sides, as they currently 15th with 21 points after 17 matches. They recorded just five wins with six draws and loses each after the first round.
TEAM NEWS
Both coaches; Umar Abdul Rabi and Maxwell Konadu came from their last matches without any injury and suspension concerns.
Benjamin Abaidoo is yet to feature for the two time FA champions since his return from the CHAN.
On the opposition end, the Royals fielded a strong line up against Samartex, with skipper Jonah Attuquaye, goalkeeper William Essu and Kofi Kordzi all included but still lost and will look to make amends this time.
