Accra Lions will aim to recover from their recent loss to Great Olympics as they prepare to face former champions Asante Kotoko in a home match in Accra on Saturday.

The Accra-based club has shown strong performances on their home ground this season, as evidenced by their recent 3-0 victory against title contenders Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. Prior to that game, they also defeated league leaders Medeama SC at the same venue.

Both teams enter the match with just one win in their last five matches, with Kotoko having drawn three of those games. While the league title is out of reach for the Porcupine Warriors, they will strive to secure a top-four finish.

On the other hand, Accra Lions only need a single point to secure their position in the Premier League for another season, despite currently sitting comfortably in tenth place.

To end their last home game on a high note, players like Seidu Bassit, Abass Samari, and Evans Botchway will need to step up and deliver strong performances for Accra Lions.

Asante Kotoko will also welcome the return of goalkeeper Fredrick Asare, who previously played for Accra Lions before his injury.

In previous encounters between Accra Lions and Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League, the Kumasi-based club emerged victorious in two matches, while one ended in a draw.
