The Ghana Premier League is back in action this weekend as Heart of Lions lock horns with Prosper Ogum’s Asante Kotoko in an important clash at the Kpando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Heart of Lions are currently in 18th place in the Premier League standings and have stepped up to the billing at home in their last three matches (2W, 1D).
The away side ruthlessly bounced Bofoakwa Tano to a damaging 2-0 defeat on match-day 17 on December 30, 2023.
Asante Kotoko are third on the league table with 29 points at the moment and have been quite consistent this season.
The home team in this encounter will look to continue their quest to climb out of the relegation zone with a convincing result this weekend against the Porcupine Warriors.
Heart of Lions have a not-way-too-bad historical record against Asante Kotoko and have won 6, drawn 7 out of the 19 matches played between the two teams since 2006, as compared to Kotoko’s 6 victories.
Heart of Lions have shown flashes of being ready to be consistent in the second round but will be up against a strong opponent on Saturday. Asante Kotoko are the better team on paper and should be able to win this game.
