Both Accra Lions and Heart of Lions have had a torrid couple of weeks in the Ghanaian top-flight.
PL returnees - Heart of Lions will be looking to end their draw stalemate project in the 2023/24 campaign this week when they play as host to Accra Lions. The Kpando based side will travel to the Accra Sports Stadium today (Thursday) aiming to put on their winning boots as they are yet to win a single game.
The hosts have exhibited an appalling form. They could only manage a draw against Bofoakwa Tano last weekend, going ahead to record just a win, three draws and three defeats so far.
On paper, this should be a wake up call for Heart of Lions. Coach Abdul Fatawu Salifu, on records, has scored just four goals this season in the GPL due to his attackers misfiring approach in front of goal.
However, if there’s a moment for Heart of Lions to cause an upset, it might be right, about, now.
For these two cellar dwellers, It is quite simple, really. A win lifts them away from the relegation zone. A defeat drags them right back into it.
Personally, I am expecting a perfect tsunami of goals in this game, but may the intrepid, more hungry team for the three maximum points win.
