Frimpong Manso is looking to upset Bechem United for the second successive time this season when he takes his Bibiani Gold Stars team to the Nana Gyeabour Park on Wednesday.

The Miners secured a narrow 1-0 victory in this fixture in the first round, with defeat proving costly for Bechem United in the Premier League title race. Early goal from Micheal Nkoah consigned the Hunters to a miserable afternoon.

Match Preview

Having won two out of their previous three matches, Gold Stars will be keen to repeat the first round's heroics at the Gyabour Park on Wednesday but will face a reinvigorated Bechem United side fresh from their 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko on Sunday afternoon.

The stalemate saw Bechem United move to the 7th on 40 points, with seven points adrift league leaders Kotoko. Coach Kwaku Danso will be hoping fellow Bono-Ahafo side Aduana Stars can do his side a favour when they host Hearts of Oak on that same time on Wednesday.

Bechem United possible starting lineup (4-3-3):

Aziz (GK) (C); Abban, Acheampong, Acquah, Alhassan, Asabre, London, Nyarko, Regain, Tompuo, Yeboah

Bibiani Gold Stars possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):

Kobi (GK), Acheampong, Agyei, Amon, Anaba, Aso, Atingah (C), Frimpong, Gyamfi, Ofori, Osei

We say: Bechem United 2 - 2 Bibiani Gold Stars

The Miners have struggled to finish their chances in recent weeks and relied on a set piece and defensive error to win against Young Apostles over the weekend.

However, while Gold Stars are in impressive form and boast some deadly forwards, they have struggled to keep clean sheets recently.

Wednesday's midweek kick-off could be a frenzied affair as a result and Gold Stars will fancy their chances of snatching a point from their Ahafo Region visit.

Kickoff for this match is scheduled at 15:00 GMT.
