Top four hopefuls Hearts of Oak and Medeama go head-to-head at Accra Sports Stadium' this Sunday in the Premier League.

Both sides are pushing for CAF Champions League qualification as the matches tick away but the Phobians have suffered setbacks in their last four matches as they've recorded one draw and three defeats.

Hearts of Oak tasted a 1-0 defeat to misfiring Nations FC at the Tuba AstroTurf, while Medeama frustrated Holy Stars at home, annexing a 2-1 win.

Match Preview

It's the Tarkwa club that are currently in the driving seat to pull an unexpected surprise and possibly qualify for the CAF Champions League, sat sixth in the table and one point clear of Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians are still within striking distance of their competitors but can ill-afford to drop points at home this weekend.

Hearts of Oak possible starting lineup (3-5-2):

Asare (GK) (C); Adam, Amankwah, Ampadu, Amponsah, Asubonteng, Awuah, Hussein, Issah, Yiadom, Yussif

Medeama possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):

Jabal (GK); Sulemana (C), Abdulai, Appiah, Dzakpasu, Mamudu, Nkrumah, Owusu E, Owusu P, Teye, Yussif

We say: Hearts of Oak 1 - 1 Medeama

Hearts of Oak had earned renown for their defensive record earlier this season and while they are still strong in their own third, they have looked increasingly leaky as the campaign has wore on. Up against Mawuli Wayo and company, keeping an 6th clean sheet in the Ghana Premier League will be a tall order.

Medeama produced a surprisingly vigorous performance in Tarkwa Tuesday and have stabilised in recent weeks after changing their handler. They will be the side providing much of the energy on Sunday, April 6 against a deep-lying defence and will be confident of breaching their backline at some stage - whether or not they can keep Wayo out is another question entirely.
