2024/25 Ghana Premier League Match Report: Berekum Chelsea edge Heart of Lions narrowly to return to winning ways

Berekum Chelsea have narrowly edged Heart of Lions by 1-0 in what was a keenly matchday 27 contest at the Golden City Park to return on winning ways 

Even exchanges in the opening minutes as both teams took the game at each other but none were able to snatch the early goal as they all planned to 

Berekum Chelsea given a free kick in 15th minute at the edge of the box, the delivery was great and resulted into an opportunity where captain Zakaria Fuseini hit strongly into the roof of the post to open the scoring account.

The Bibires came so close to doubling their lead in the 33rd minute as Stephen Amankona looked to increase his goal tally but his brilliant strike was checked by goalkeeper Lawrence Osei.

Back from recess, the Giant Killers bounced back stronger and their constant attacks got them a goal eventually in the 58th minute through Paul Atta Agyei but was eventually flagged off for an offside.

It was another goal for the visitors five minutes later scored by Nana Oppong this time but was once again ruled out for an offside.

Despite the series of goal attempts made, the home team stayed very resolute and well organized in the box to preserve their lead until full-time. 

Berekum Chelsea after this precious win have climbed to the tenth place in the table with 35 points and will travel to Young Apostles next.

Heart of Lions will be very disappointed after the defeat having dropped out of the top four and will seek redress against Medeama SC in the next round of matches.
