Berekum Chelsea spurned several chances and failed to take gazump past Hearts of Oak - who were sitting ahead of them with just a point when they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Aduana Stars on Saturday.
Samuel Boadu’s side failed to move up a little bit and will be disappointed not to have made up some ground in front of the Bibires supporters at the Berekum Golden City Park.
The visitors barely troubled Berekum Chelsea keeper Gregory Obeng Sekyere but were pleased with their defensive effort, which earned them a share of the points.
Berekum Chelsea have moved ahead to seventh in the table on 18 points from 13 games, one point behind sixth-placed Hearts of Oak, who will play away to Kotoko on Sunday.
Aduana, who are 14th with 13 points, snapped their matchday 12 defeat against Kotoko to record their seventh draw and kept their fellow Bono regional rivals off the scoresheet by swarming them every time they got near the penalty area.
