Asante Kotoko came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Young Apostles on matchday three of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on Sunday, September 22.

The Porcupine Warriors avoided defeat thanks to a stunning equalizer from new signing Emmanuel Antwi, who scored a long-range effort late in the match.

The game marked Kotoko's first home fixture of the season at their adopted Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, following the temporary closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for renovations.

Young Apostles, yet to score in their first two matches, came into the game following a goalless draw against Nations FC. After a scoreless first half, they broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half when Daniel Lomotey netted to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Kotoko fought back, and in the 76th minute, Antwi unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box, beating the Young Apostles goalkeeper to level the match.

Despite both teams pushing for a winner in the closing minutes, the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

The result leaves Asante Kotoko with four points from two games, while Young Apostles remain winless after three games. Kotoko will next face Berekum Chelsea, while Young Apostles are set to play Aduana FC in their upcoming fixtures.
