Karela United claimed a vital 2-1 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nalerigu, providing a much-needed morale boost despite their continued position in the relegation zone.
The match kicked off with a quick breakthrough as Alhassan Adamu found the back of the net in the 12th minute, giving Karela the early lead and setting the tone for a determined performance. The goal was a crucial step in ending their frustrating four-game losing streak.
Adamu struck again just after the break, scoring in the 48th minute to double Karela’s advantage and send a clear signal of their intent to turn their season around.
However, Berekum Chelsea fought back in the 80th minute with a consolation goal that temporarily reignited their hopes. Despite the late surge, the goal did little to derail Karela's momentum.
The defeat ended Chelsea's winning streak, which had seen them secure two consecutive victories.
Karela United now turn their attention to their upcoming trip to Accra Lions, aiming for more points to further their climb out of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea will focus on their next fixture against Nsoatreman.
