Karela United delivered a spirited performance to earn a crucial 3-1 victory over Medeama SC on Matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League, bolstering their fight for survival.

After a balanced start, Alihassan Ali broke the deadlock in the 27th minute with a well-timed header, giving the home side a 1-0 lead going into the break.

The second half saw Karela turn up the pressure, and Abubakar Malik stole the spotlight with a brilliant brace. He netted his first in the 62nd minute with a clinical finish before doubling his tally just five minutes later, extending Karela’s lead to 3-0.

Medeama SC pulled one back almost immediately through Godknows Gzakpasu in the 68th minute, but the damage had already been done as Karela comfortably saw out the game.

The result lifts Karela United to 14th on the league table with 35 points, just above the relegation zone, while Medeama remain 7th with 47 points and see their top-four hopes take a hit.
