The home side commenced the fixture on a good note, with William Adjei failing to find the back of the net from close range in the 21st minute of the game.
Accra Lions took over to enjoy the majority of possession in the first half but failed to register the opener despite their impressive display.

In the second half, Legon Cities returned from the tunnel with the hopes of opening the scoring to at least snatch all the points at home.

Striker Albert Yeboah had the opportunity to put Cities ahead in the 54th minute, but he got denied by goalkeeper Osei Bonsu, who fisted out the audacious strike.
