One of the eight matches, 3pm kick-off of Wednesday's midweek Match-day 20 Premier League actions pits Young Apostles against Asante Kotoko in an unlikely top and mid of the table clash.
Prosper Ogum's visitors would have expected to be in and around the top spots, though the capital-man's stellar work since succeeding Seydou Zerbo may have even taken him by surprise. The Porcupine Warriors are sitting pretty above everybody else, one point clear of Heart of Lions and Bibiani Gold Stars in second and third, respectively, with both side's also playing on Wednesday.
Match Preview
Astonishingly, Apostles, who many would have tipped to be battling relegation, are tenth and even above with points with two-time Ghana Premier League title holders Aduana Stars, which they won in the 2009-10 and 2016-17 seasons. They have won three games, lost two and drawn one across all competitions - keeping one clean sheet in their last six - and are three points away from hitting the magic 30-point mark with 10 games of the season still to play.
As such, they head into this game with every chance of taking at least a point off Kotoko.
Young Apostles possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Ofosu (GK), Aboubakar, Afram, Amegbe, Huseine, Kontor, Lomotey, Muftaw, Bortey, Rahman, Suleiman Abu (C)
Asante Kotoko possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Asare (G) (C), Ansu, Asiedu, Saaka, Gilbani, Kyei-Baffour, Mintah, Ntim, Opoku, Safah, Tenedu
We say: Young Apostles 1 - 2 Kotoko
The atmosphere at The Wenchi Stadium can be ear splitting at the best of times, so you can only imagine the decibel reading if Apostles bring their A game.
Kotoko are yet to be beaten on the road in their last three matches across all competitions, winning two and drawing one, and their only defeat (2-0) at home came against Nations FC in a Matchday 11 fixture in November - Nafiu Sulemana and Faisal Charwetey the goalscorers in what many thought was a shock result.
Apostles home games are usually low-scoring, tight affairs, with only 10 goals coming in the eleven they've played. A close, gritty encounter can be expected, but it would take a brave man to bet against the league leaders despite the hugely erratic form of the hosts.
