Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has acknowledged that the opening match against Karela United in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season will be a challenging contest.

Speaking to the media team of the Porcupine Warriors, Coach Ogum highlighted the need for thorough preparation after Karela United managed to take four points out of six in their encounters last season.

“We will start the season by going to Tamale and, as you said, last season they took four points out of the six, so the coming season I’m sure it’s going to be a very big game, especially in the first game. We need to be very prepared and make sure that we get there and get the job done,” Coach Ogum said.

Following a trophyless campaign last season, Asante Kotoko aims to secure silverware in the upcoming season.

The team has already strengthened its squad with several top recruits during the off-season, gearing up to compete for all available trophies.
