Asante Kotoko will look to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season when they welcome Medeama SC to the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in a key Week 12 Ghana Premier League fixture.

The Porcupine Warriors’ unbeaten run came to an end midweek, as Basake Holy Stars secured a late 2-1 victory, ending Kotoko’s streak and leaving the league without an undefeated side after eleven matchdays. Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has urged his team to focus quickly on Medeama.
“Everybody wants to beat Kotoko. We didn’t play badly. We played good football, but putting the ball in the back of the net was once again the problem. This is football, we are playing at home on Sunday. The team that leads the table leads us by three points, so we are still chasing,” Zito said.
Defensively, Kotoko will need a sharper display, having conceded in three consecutive home matches. Offensively, they have scored 12 goals in 11 matches, averaging 1.09 per game, while conceding six goals at 0.55 per match.
Medeama arrive in confident form following a 4-1 win over Rospack FC in the MTN FA Cup, which has boosted morale ahead of the league clash. Head coach Ibrahim Tanko believes the cup result provides his players with momentum.
“If you score four goals in a game just before facing Asante Kotoko, it gives you confidence. We are going to prepare well for that match,” Tanko stated.
In the league, Medeama have recorded six wins, four draws, and one defeat, scoring 15 goals at 1.36 per game and conceding six, matching Kotoko defensively. The two sides have met six times since November 2022: Kotoko have three wins, Medeama one, and two draws. Their most recent meeting saw Kotoko edge Medeama 3-2 on June 1, 2025.
With both teams closely matched this season, Sunday’s fixture is expected to be a tight, competitive encounter.
