Asante Kotoko’s bid to close out the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season on a high ended in disappointment, as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to newly-promoted Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors initially took the lead in the 38th minute through Emmanuel Antwi, whose deflected effort beat the goalkeeper and nestled into the bottom corner.

However, the hosts hit back almost immediately. Substitute Edmond Asante restored parity just two minutes later, bundling the ball over the line from close range.

Kotoko struggled to assert themselves in the second half, and their disjointed performance was punished in the 81st minute when Frank Duku calmly slotted home to put Vision FC ahead.

Duku struck again deep into stoppage time to seal a memorable brace and hand Kotoko their first defeat under interim head coach Abdul Karim Zito.

The result sees Kotoko finish the season in fifth place—well adrift of the title race. Their last shot at silverware now lies in the MTN FA Cup final against Division One side Golden Kicks on June 15.

Vision FC, meanwhile, end their debut Premier League campaign on a strong note, securing 11th place with 45 points.
