Michael Nkoah’s second half goal was enough to hand champions Bibiani GoldStars an important 0-1 away win at newbies All Blacks in a very fascinating game at the Swedru Sports Stadium earlier today.
After a very appalling run in their the first ever campaign CAF Champions League campaign, the reigning Ghanaian champions returned to ensure they are still in charge with a vital away win to maintain their perfect league start.
It was a very balanced game as both sides looked very calm in the early stages but after they had all settled down, it became a very open game leaving the fans present very excited with the top-level of football displayed.
Due to the scorching sun in Swedru, the game at certain point had to stop for a cooling break where the players took advantage to hydrate themselves a little for the remainder of the first half.
Just a minute into the second half, Bibiani GoldStars stunned their host by bouncing back stronger to score and jump into the lead out of nowhere.
Michael Nkoah was the scorer with a very cool finish after receiving a decent ball that arrived from Emmanuel Agyei in the opening minutes.
The ‘Ozii Ozawa’ lads offered all they could, made series of incursions and made efforts from all angles but goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi proved why he is one of the best in the country now by standing tall to preserve their lead.
Bibiani GoldStars have now won all their first two matches in the game and will look to build on this momentum going forward as they prepare for another away fixture against Basake Holy Stars.
This defeat will mark the second straight loss for Swedru All Blacks who will also hit the road to face FC Samartex in the next round of matches.
