Heart of Lions recorded an emphatic 3-0 victory over FC Samartex in their thrilling match-day 32 fixture of the Ghana Premier League clash at the Kpando Stadium.

The hosts produced a dominant first-half display and scored all three goals before the break to secure a comfortable victory against the Timber Giants.

Captain Ebenezer Abban opened the scoring account for the Giant Killers before goals from Asante Seedorf Afful and Ishmael Addo sealed a memorable first-half performance for the home side.

The Timber Giants improved after the restart and created some decent opportunities in the second half, but the visitors failed to find the back of the net despite their efforts to fight back into the contest.

The victory leaves Heart of Lions in 13th position on the league table with 42 points and will next travel to Tarkwa for a difficult clash against league leaders Medeama SC.

FC Samartex are now on a two-game losing streak following the defeat but still remain in the top six and will hope to bounce back when they host Hearts of Oak in Samreboi in their next fixture.
