Hearts of Oak have returned on winning path with a narrow 1-0 win over FC Samartex to kickstart match-day 16 of the Ghana Premier League.
The ‘Phobians’ made a very explosive start to the game and opened the scoring account in just six minutes into the game.
The visitors tried building from the back, a huge press from
Mawuli Wayo on Grippmann, got the ball on the path of Hamza Issah who struck into the net to break the deadlock.
In the 30th minute mark, got a free kick but Awuah Dramani had his free-kick went into the human wall and couldn’t get Samartex the needed equalizer.
In the second half, the Timber Giants returned from where they left off and began to make purposeful attacks.
Twenty minutes into recess, George Paaku was located by Martin Karikari but the former had his effort missed the post by few inches as the scoreline remained the same.
Hearts of Oak after today’s win have now tied-up with league leaders on 28 points each and are currently in second place and will travel to Medeama SC.
FC Samartex remain in sixth place with 24 points and are most likely to drop down on the league log after other matches. They will host Young Apostles next.
