Hohoe United fought back to earn a 2–2 draw against Hohoe Vision FC in an exciting Ghana Premier League matchweek 20 game at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts burst out of the blocks and needed just six minutes to take the lead, as midfielder Ati Sena struck early to hand the Pride of Hohoe the perfect start in front of their home fans.
However, the advantage did not last long. Vision FC responded with maturity beyond their years, and it was 17-year-old centre-back Sam-An Mohammed who rose to the occasion, scoring the equaliser to level matters for the Eewoo Boys and settle his side after early pressure.
The match then became tight, with both teams battling in midfield. Chances came at both ends, but neither side could find a clear winner. In the 78th minute, Vision FC notched again, scoring a second goal that looked set to give them an important away win and quieten the home fans.
But Hohoe United refused to be beaten. They pushed forward late in the game and were rewarded in the 87th minute with an equaliser, sending the crowd into celebration and forcing the match to end in a draw.
The draw sees Vision FC moves Vision FC up to 14th place on the league table with 23 points. They are still chasing their sixth win of the season, with five wins, seven draws and seven defeats after 19 matches.
Hohoe United remain 17th in the 18-team league with 20 points, after recording four wins, seven draws and eight losses, as they continue their fight to move away from the relegation zone.
Both teams will take positives from their strong effort, but with the season at an important stage, finding steady results will be key.
