The Timber Giants returned to winning ways with a narrow victory over Swedru All Blacks at the Nsenkyire Stadium.

FC Samartex secured their fourth win of the season after defeating the Premier League returnees 1-0 in the match-week nine fixture on Sunday afternoon.

The home side, who were unbeaten in this campaign and got humbled by Dreams FC last weekend, looked determined ahead of the game, and they commenced with dangerous attacks on the back line of Swedru All Blacks.

The impressive performance by Christopher Ennin’s side paid off when a penalty was awarded on the stroke of halftime following a foul on Awuah Dramani.

Emmanuel Mamah elected himself to brilliantly convert the spot-kick into the back of the net to hand FC Samartex the deserving lead at home.

In the second half, FC Samartex continued to dominate the possession, but they failed to make their chances count.

Swedru All Blacks ended the game with a 1-0 defeat and also as a manless side when Derrick Asiamah was shown the marching orders for picking up the second yellow card in the 88th minute of the game.

FC Samartex will travel to the Ahafo Region to face Bechem United, while Swedru All Blacks will host Hearts of Oak in the matchweek 10 encounter at the Swedru Stadium.
