Medeama SC produced a spirited second-half comeback to secure a 2–1 victory over Berekum Chelsea in their Matchweek 13 showdown at the TNA Stadium on Sunday afternoon, a result that fires the Yellow and Mauves to the summit of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League table.

Chelsea stunned the home crowd early when in-form forward Shaibu Faisal broke the deadlock after just 12 minutes, finishing off a quick attacking move to give the visitors a surprise lead. The Bibires protected their advantage for much of the first half, keeping Medeama at bay despite the hosts’ superior possession.

Medeama, who enjoyed 57% of the ball, emerged from the break with renewed energy and eventually turned the tide. The equaliser arrived in the 57th minute when centre-back Jacob Mensah nod home a beauty, sending the Tarkwa faithful into full voice.

With the stars firmly on their side, the Yellow and Mauves completed the turnaround 12 minutes later. Midfielder Salim Adams, a silky dazzler all afternoon, struck decisively in the 69th minute to hand Medeama a deserved 2–1 lead, a goal that ultimately sealed all three points.

Chelsea, who registered 43% possession, struggled to rediscover their early form and were unable to force a late response, leaving them to rue missed opportunities and defensive mistakes after the break.

The comeback victory lifts Medeama SC to 1st place on the league table with 26 points, marking a significant statement as the season edges toward its midpoint.

For Berekum Chelsea, the defeat leaves them in 16th position with 12 points, heightening pressure as they continue to battle in the lower reaches of the standings.
