Coach Frimpong Manso took over Nations FC just few days ago but has managed to secure a vital 0-0 draw against Bechem United in an epic match-day 8 opener of the Ghana Premier League.
While Bechem United started with a 4:2:3:1 formation with an attacking mindset, Nations FC came in with a 3:5:2 formation and so stayed very resolute and well-organized especially in defense.
The homesters had the upper hand right from onset and made series of goal incursions with Tompuo and others all coming close but couldn’t make it count.
In the second half, Nations FC still resumed with more of a defensive approach and tried using their flanks to break on a counter anytime they have the ball but wasn’t giving them needed results.
The Hunters made series of attacks but one of their major problems was how to break or penetrate through the visitors back line.
However, Emmanuel Abban was served with a very good ball in the box to open the scoring account but unfortunately fired wide off the crossbar for a goal-kick. That was really an unpardonable miss as it finished goalless in the end.
Bechem United still with just a win still remain in 14th place on the table with six points and will face Young Apostles next.
Nations FC are also now unbeaten in their last two matches and have risen to the ninth spot with 9 points and will host newbies Hohoe United next.
