Nations FC stole it late with a stunning Prince Badu goal to beat Heart of Lions by 2-1 in Ghana Premier League match-week 13 clash at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
The Eagles fought very well in the as they never gave up despite conceding first and pushed hard to ensure the comeback is made possible.
Liberian international Chauncy Freeman opened the scoring account for Heart of Lions in the 17th minute and it came as a huge surprise due to their jittery start to the game.
Just and when the visitors thought of preserving their lead till half-time, Antwi Sarpong did a great work in midfield and crossed into the box which was unfortunately headed Ruben Hennessy into his own net as Nations FC got back on level.
In the second half, both teams bounced back stronger with Seedorf Asante and Emmanuel Annor coming very close but all couldn’t make good use of the opportunities that fell on their path.
With five minutes to wrap things up, the homesters scored in a very exciting fashion after Prince Badu had his shot deflected into the net to send the entire Abrankese in raptures. It finished 2-1 in the end.
Nations FC are now back on winning ways and will hope to build on the same momentum when they travel to Hearts of Oak next.
Heart of Lions and now winless in their last three game and today’s defeat has thrown a huge dent on their league winning hopes and it’s definitely going to be a must win against Aduana FC next at home.
