Medeama SC returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Aduana FC in their Matchweek Eight game at the TnA Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Budding forward Dominic Amponsah scored the only goal in the 82nd minute to give the Yellow and Mauves all three points.
The win was important for Medeama, who were looking to bounce back after losing 2-1 to Samartex last Sunday.
Playing at home, Medeama were determined to get a good result against an Aduana side that had recorded four league wins, one draw and two defeats in their first seven matches.
The game remained tight until Amponsah climbed off the bench to clip the ball into the net with just eight minutes left to play, securing a valuable win for the home side.
Aduana came into the match with confidence after beating AshantiGold 1-0 in their Matchweek Seven game. Abubakar Adams scored the only goal in that victory.
The result sends Medeama back to the top of the league table with 17 points, while Aduana drop to seventh place with 13 points.
