Abdul Gazale, the coach of Asante Kotoko, has expressed his disappointment with the team's defence and the unfortunate goals they have conceded in recent games.

The Porcupine Warriors currently sit outside the top four, eight points behind league leaders Aduana Stars, after dropping points at home against Tamale City last weekend.

Gazale attributed the goal conceded in the draw against Tamale City to goalkeeper Frederick Asare and has called for an improvement in the defensive department ahead of their upcoming game against Bibiani Gold Stars. He emphasized the need to work on their finishing and continue to improve their defence to avoid conceding avoidable goals.

In an interview with Peace FM, Gazale said, “We have been picking the matches one after the other, and that match against Bibiani Gold Stars is one we also have to work on our finishing as well. We will not stop from the defensive orientation, and as far as air ball is concerned, we will continue to work on it to see how best we can manage up till the end of the season”

“The way we are conceding those particular goals is unfortunate, and it keeps on happening. But the defenders and the goalkeeper have to talk to each other to see how best they can handle it. We have done a lot concerning that particular aspect.”

To have a chance of defending their title, Kotoko will need to win all of their remaining games.
