Aboubakar Ouattara - Hearts of Oak head coach has admitted they are in a very tight race as far as the Ghana Premier League is concerned but made it clear their focus is to win ultimate.
The Rainbow Club despite a sloppy start are gradually finding their pieces and are currently on a five-game unbeaten run in the league having won three and drawn one in their last four league matches.
The 'Phobians' are currently occupying the sixth spot on the league log with 19 points after 12 matches - just two places beneath the top four.
Speaking on Accra-based Original FM, the experienced tactician made it categorically clear that his target is to win the league and also it won't be surprising if he is unable to.
“The teams that are competing to win the Ghana Premier League are many. Bibiani GoldStars, Nations FC, Medeama, Heart of Lions, Hearts of Oak, and Asante Kotoko are all fighting for the title,” Ouattara told Original FM.
“Let me ask you a question: If you enroll in Secondary School, what is your target?’” The interviewer responded, “To pass.”
“If you say it is not your target to win the league, why are you playing? We are competing for the title, and if it comes to pass, it will not be a surprise; if it doesn’t happen, too, it will not be a surprise.”
Hearts of Oak's next game is against sworn rivals Asante Kotoko on December 15, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
