Hearts of Oak defender Ali Mohammed has fired an early-season warning at Hohoe United as the two sides prepare to open the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League on Friday.

The Phobians host the newly promoted side at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the former Vision FC centre-back is expected to make his competitive debut.

Mohammed, who impressed in pre-season, was blunt in his assessment of the challenge awaiting Hohoe United.

“We’ve heard all the bragging from our opponents in Hohoe. We want them to know that their journey is long and we will make it extra far for them on Friday,” Mohammed said.

“They will see everything on Friday. We will teach them football. It is not about talking, it is about what you do on the pitch. We are not going to brag but we will teach them a lesson.”

Hohoe United who were crowned champions of Division One Zone Three last season, travel to Accra with optimism, but face a tough initiation against a Hearts side rebuilt under ex-Black Stars assistant Mas Ud Didi Dramani, now head coach of the capital giants.
