Asante Kotoko's assistant coach, David Ocloo, openly acknowledged the hurdles his team confronted during the initial stages of the Ghana Premier League clash against Real Tamale United (RTU).
In the face of these challenges, the Porcupine Warriors ultimately triumphed with a 1-0 victory in the intense week 16 encounter, held at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The pivotal moment in the game unfolded during the second half when Ugandan striker Steven Dese Mukwala successfully converted a penalty in the 80th minute, securing the decisive goal for Asante Kotoko.
Reflecting on the match, Ocloo recognized the formidable effort put forth by RTU, stating, "I told you RTU will come with tripled effort, and that’s exactly what they did. You could see the way they dominated us in the first half of the game, but thank God we had the needed result."
Gratefully acknowledging the victory, Ocloo underscored the team's unwavering commitment to preparing for the challenges that lie ahead. "We are going back to prepare like we always do and go there and fight and get a good result home," he asserted in an interview with StarTimes.
Looking forward, Asante Kotoko is now set to confront Bofoakwa Tano in the forthcoming week 17 fixture of the Ghana Premier League campaign. The triumph against RTU serves as a motivating force for Kotoko as they endeavor to sustain their momentum in the league.
