Asante Kotoko coach Abdul-Karim Zito has welcomed his team’s 0-0 draw with Heart of Lions, describing it as a sign of progress in their performances this season.

The Porcupine Warriors were held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, but Zito was encouraged by his side’s display against a team that has traditionally dominated encounters between the two clubs.

“I’m okay with a point, it’s better than losing, but there is an improvement,” Zito said after the match.

“We are not yet there, but there is an improvement — so it wasn’t bad. We’ll continue to work on scoring more goals in subsequent games.”

Heart of Lions have historically caused problems for Kotoko, but Sunday’s result demonstrated the reigning Ghana Premier League side’s growing resilience under Zito.

Kotoko now turn their attention to an outstanding league fixture against Bibiani GoldStars, scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, at DUN’s Park, as they aim to build on this encouraging performance.
