Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has acknowledged that despite their 1-0 victory over rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, his team should have sealed the win earlier rather than waiting until the dying moments of the match.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Ogum reflected on Kotoko's narrow win, which came courtesy of Albert Amoah’s goal in the 95th minute at the Baba Yara Stadium.

"This victory is important, but there is a lot of work to do," Ogum admitted. "As a coach, I have to take responsibility. If you look at the chances we created, we shouldn’t have waited until the 90+5th minute to score. We should have finished the game in the first half."

Sunday’s win marked Kotoko's fourth consecutive victory over Hearts of Oak, extending their unbeaten streak against their rivals, which also includes back-to-back wins from last season’s league campaign.

With the win, Kotoko moved up to sixth place in the Ghana Premier League standings, tied on 21 points with fifth-placed Medeama SC.
