Berekum Chelsea’s Communications Director, Isaac Obeng, has praised Asante Kotoko, describing them as the strongest team in Ghana ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
In an interview with Luv FM, Obeng acknowledged the challenge his side faces as they prepare to host the Porcupine Warriors in their opening fixture.
“After watching them, I called Coach Samuel Boadu, and he shares the same view that it will be a very tough game,” Obeng said. “Looking at their recruitment, I can confidently say Asante Kotoko are the best team in Ghana at the moment.”
He revealed that Chelsea’s squad had already moved to Kumasi to step up preparations, emphasizing the importance of a strong start to the season.
“The team left Berekum yesterday for Kumasi, and we instructed that the training there must be intensive because our first three matches will be challenging,” he explained.
Despite the tough task ahead, Obeng expressed confidence in Chelsea’s ability to compete.
“We are aiming to beat Asante Kotoko, even though we know it will be a very difficult game in Berekum,” he added.
The fixture holds extra significance for Chelsea, who are eager to improve on last season’s 12th-place finish.
