Asante Kotoko’s highly-rated youth team prospect Vitus Kwasi Avoka is on the verge of completing a move to Serbian outfit Radnik Surdulica, with the transfer expected to be finalised in the coming days.
The cultured left-footer, who broke into Kotoko’s first team last season, has continued his development away from Kumasi and is currently on loan at Okwahu United in the Division One League, where he has gained valuable regular playing time.
Avoka’s impending switch to Europe underlines Kotoko’s growing reputation as a breeding ground for young talent, with the teenager’s composure, technical quality and ability to operate comfortably in multiple roles making him an attractive prospect for Radnik Surdulica.
During his brief spell with Kotoko’s senior side, Avoka caught the eye with his maturity beyond his years, showing confidence in possession and a willingness to influence play from deep areas. Those attributes have been further refined during his loan stint at Okwahu United, where he has featured consistently and impressed with his work rate and tactical discipline.
Radnik Surdulica, who have a history of developing young players, see Avoka as a long-term investment and are expected to integrate him gradually into their setup once the move is completed.
