The young goalkeeper has declined a late invitation to the Black Stars of Ghana for the four-nation tournament in Japan.
Ghana coach Otto Addo and his technical team handed a late call-up to Ibrahim Danlad for the four-nation tournament dubbed 2022 Kirin Cup slated for this month.
Danlad was invited to join the senior national team of Ghana as replacement for Orlando Pirates shot-stopper Richard Ofori who sustained a hamstring injury during the Black Stars training ahead of Central African Republic game.
Kickgh.com can exclusively report that Asante Kotoko have contacted the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over the unavailability of Ibrahim Danlad for the four-nation tournament in Japan.
Danlad's departure to join the Black Stars would have left Asante Kotoko ending their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season with only one goalkeeper — Kwame Baah who featured in their last weekend's game against Great Olympics.
Danlad Ibrahim has represented Ghana at the U17, U20 and U23 level before earning a call-up for the first time to the Black Stars in 2021.
He has made 20 appearances in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season for Asante Kotoko.
