Asante Kotoko has resolved its $25,000 debt with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) concerning unpaid transfer fees, as reported by Kessben Sports.
Previously, the GFA had issued a notice to Asante Kotoko, demanding payment of its percentage from the club's player transfers last season, with the threat of demotion if left unresolved.
In a resolution, Asante Kotoko's Interim Management Committee (IMC) opted to offset the debt by allowing the GFA to deduct the owed amount from their share of the sponsorship funds provided by StarTimes, the TV rights holder for the Ghana Premier League.
According to a report by Kessben Sports on Tuesday, the GFA deducted $25,000 from the StarTimes sponsorship payment destined for Asante Kotoko, following receipt of funds from the broadcaster.
