Frederick Asare, the goalkeeper for Asante Kotoko, has expressed discontent with the club's current standing in the Ghana Premier League.
Despite a challenging start to the new league campaign, the Porcupine Warriors have displayed improvement in recent months, securing consecutive victories and currently occupying the third position on the league table.
In a statement to Asante Kotoko's media team, goalkeeper Frederick Asare conveyed his dissatisfaction, stating that being in the third position is not acceptable for the renowned Ghanaian club. He believes that, given the club's stature, they should be leading the division.
"I don’t think it's a good position for us. Kotoko is a big club, and finishing third in the first round is unsatisfactory. We should have been first or second on the table by now, but in all, we didn’t start the season. We believe things are going to change in the second round,” expressed goalkeeper Frederick Asare.
With just three points behind the current league leaders, Kotoko remains optimistic about their chances of clinching the league title at the end of the campaign.
