The head coach of Basake Holy Stars, Abdulai Gazale was disappointed with his side's 2-1 defeat to Medeama on Tuesday but commended his players for an unflinching performance.

Speaking in his post-match interview after the loss, the former Asante Kotoko assistant traner mentioned that his team merited at least a draw after putting out an energetic display against the Yellow and Mauves.

He indicated Basake Holy Stars were unlucky to concede late in the game, leading to the defeat.

“We have done well. We came here to pick a point or the three points but unfortunately, we lost the match and I know it is part of the game. How we lost the match is something else because technically and tactically, the boys did well.

“We tried building up from the back to upfront and everything went on well for us. Unfortunately, if you continue to make mistakes you end up causing yourself and clearly in the second half you could see we were lacking a few things in midfield,” Gazale added.

Basake Holy Stars are currently manning the 13th spot with 27 points after 24 rounds of matches in the ongoing league season.
