Former Asante Kotoko coach Bashiru Hayford has made a startling revelation about a funeral donation he received from the Porcupine Warriors following the death of his wife in 2008.

The experienced tactician claimed that the club's GH¢200 cheque bounced when he tried to cash it.

Hayford, who once led the Kum-Apem lads, disclosed that the cheque was presented to him as a funeral contribution by former Kotoko management member Edmund Ackah but could not be cashed.

The ourneyman gaffer revealed that he has kept the cheque over the years, with the incident remaining part of his history with the Ghanaian football giants.

“When my wife died, the cheque Kotoko gave me as a funeral donation bounced. It was GH¢200, brought by Edmund Ackah. The cheque is still here,” Hayford said on Kessben FM.

Hayford previously took charge of Kotoko and guided the club to a league title during his time in the dugout.
